You Are One Of A Kind

My husband and I “babysat” our grand puppy Olive this weekend. It’s amusing to watch how she and our dog Schatzi interact with each other.

Olive is a sweet, playful and sassy puppy who loves everyone…

And Schatzi is definitely an “alpha” dog who likes to be in charge and boss everyone around!

Their unique styles and differences are so fun and entertaining to be around; isn’t it so true with the individuals we interact with too? We all have unique personalities, and the diverse ways in which we are unique make us stand out in a crowd. There is so much to be learned from people’s distinctive character and contrasting identities. We all have different approaches to life and different opinions; what a beautiful experience it is to surround myself with those of different cultures and backgrounds! There is so much to be learned in that diversity, and others can benefit from what we have to offer as well. What makes us unique is our individual life journey, for no two people have traveled the same path. And there is no one else who has your own special abilities, interests, or history; you are the only one there is! :)

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)

God loves variety, and regardless of our background, circumstances or history - His love and grace is intended for us all. Even though we are different, we can all be united because the love of God unites all Christians. He made us different to learn, love and honor each other and to unite us all in a glorious symphony with His Son!

“That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” (Romans 8:28 MSG)

  1. Hi Denise - my daughter came and told me this the other day - "we are all unique, just like everybody else" Had to giggle.

  2. Hi Denise,

Beautiful words today. We are all created differently, unique in His image, when we unite, bringing our unique differences to whole Body of Christ, we create a beautiful symphony.

    Blessings.

  3. Hi Denise,
    What little cutie-pies!

I love how God in His awesome wisdom designed us to be so different, like puzzle pieces, so that we fit together to complete the picture! (Just like Romans 8:28 and Romans 12)

    Peace In Jesus

  5. Hi Denise...GOD knew what He was doing when He made us all different. If we were all the same there would be a lot left undone!

  6. I love how your post intertwines with a point I made in my post earlier today about God INTENDING our unique attributes. How ironic too that our blog names are ever so close to one another.

I found your blog a little bit ago via Faithful Bloggers. Thanks for the visit, I enjoyed reading what you have to share. God bless you!

  7. So cute! Pets certainly do have distinct personalities--just like people. God's imagination and creativity are beyond our comprehension,

It's wonderful that He is able to make each of us unique yet, when united with other Christians, we can accomplish His purposes. You might enjoy my post that is on a similar theme called "The Alto Clarinet" http://2encourage.blogspot.com/2011/03/alto-clarinet.html.

    Blessings!

  9. Olive and Schatzi are adorable. I have a schnoodle named Oliver and a mentally challenged poodle named Max. They are quite a pair, too.

Loved this post. It reminds me to celebrate the differences between me and others instead of trying to make everyone do things my way.

    Thanks!
