Looking Good On The Inside

"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." (I Samuel 16:7)

Too often I am concerned and spend too much time and money trying to look attractive and adorning myself outside and as a result, neglect spending a penny or the effort to decorate my inner self. I sometimes even allow it to affect the way I start my day! Why do we judge ourselves, make the mistake of judging others, or think that they judge us by the way we look on the outside? The way we look on the outside doesn't reveal what our true value is, and I am ashamed to say that many times I find myself in this position. Wouldn't it be better if we  looked at people's hearts the way God does?

"Oh Lord, You are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." (Isaiah 64:8)

Although makeup, jewelry and clothing are tools that can enhance, they can also detract from a lady's God-given beauty. True beauty begins on the inside. We need to praise God for the qualities that make us unique and special, and quit spending so much time trying to remake ourselves. God knitted me together completely to reflect the person He sees in me, and He didn't need my advice on how to create the perfect me!

"Be beautiful inside, in your hearts, with the lasting charm of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God." (I Peter 3:4)

Being beautiful on the inside, which is is in your heart and your mind, is all about displaying your love and your gifts, and learning something everyday that will build you up and add value to your life. Instead of spending wasted time in front of the mirror, or wasting money on excessive clothes, accessories and stuff, the happiness and glow that is shining through our face and our character is really what is reflected inside of our hearts. This is what is pleasing to God; this is how we show our love for Him.

"As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man." (Proverbs 27:19)

~~Beauty of a Woman~~
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes,
Because this is the doorway to her heart,
The place where she resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman
With time, only grows.
