A New Year of Confidence

As we make our resolutions for the year ahead, let us go forward with great hope that all things can be possible—with Your help and guidance." (Anonymous)

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6)

God cares about every little detail in our lives, even the little things that we think are too small to take to Him. I pray and talk to God for the most eccentric little things; it's my way of communicating with Him daily. I don't feel that any prayer request is too big or too small and insignificant; our prayers are a chance to reach out to a loving God who longs to communicate about every little detail in our lives!  Some people worry that they shouldn't bother God with the "small" stuff, but if we are in the habit of bringing all of our concerns, worries, and also praises to God daily, it's so much easier to earnestly talk to Him about the "big" stuff. God doesn't want us to worry; He wants us to pray and seek Him constantly about everything. We just need to listen to His still, small voice speaking to our hearts when we pray about everything.

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that He hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked Him." (1 John 5:14-15)

Regardless of any situation that is in our heart, God desires us to pray with confidence. And because we are one of His dear children, our powerful God loves us and cares about anything we tell Him! We can ask God for anything and He listens-He will answer. We should have a prayerful attitude at all times so that we can build upon our dependence on God. There have been many times in my life that I have tried to handle situations without first talking to God which just led me to worrying and/or stressing about the decision or commitment I did or did not make. I have learned to try and pray over every little opportunity that comes my way, and it has become natural to pray frequent, spontaneous, and short prayers for any cause or occasion.

Begin the New Year experiencing the joy of talking to God about everything (the big and the small stuff), knowing that He is listening and loves to hear from you! :)

"Don't worry about bringing small things to God, for with God everything is small!" (Kendall)

  1. Thank you for this biblical encouragement. I like to think that God hears all prayers. What I like most in your blog today is this: 'That I do not feel any prayer request is too big or too small and insignificant, our prayers are a chance to reach out to a loving God who longs to Communicate about every little detail in our lives!'

I want to think about it and carry it in my heart

  2. Denise,
I'm one of those who sometimes feel guilty for "troubling" God with the small things. I think you wrote this just for me :) I'm carrying your encouraging words with me into the new year.

in 1 Thes. 5:17, we are told to " Pray without ceasing."

  4. Hi Denise - love the bit at the end of your post, all things are small to God. Its just us who make mountains out of molehills and to God, they are all tiny issues. Great post for the end of the year. I pray that your year ahead is filled with blessings abundant. Looking forward to getting to know you better this year.
    God bless

  6. Happy New Years Denise to you and your family! Thank you for your lovely comment you left on my page yesterday, God sure does know where to send us and we don't even know at times why He sent us. I am happy to say I thank God He sent you my way.

I was just talking about this same message on the radio on Thursday night along with another Pastor in FL about how when it comes to prayer it's one of the less which needs more people attending it. I have even question God why do we not pray is it because we can't physically touch and see God or do we find it hard or could it be we are not sure what to say.

Prayer is like oxygen to the physically body without it the body dies without prayer our spirit man spiritually dies and then when we go to pray we have no power because we haven't been connected to the source. My prayer for me is to pray more then what I did in 2011. AMEN

Great Post and sorry for making my responds so long.
